Making Music At Annap's, Part I

Anna scurrys about trying to find yet one more way to make each and everyone there more comfortable...she finally sits for a few moments and soon is heard belting out "Keep On Truckin' Mama"...

Susan (no, not Susan of DT - the other one) puts down the tambourine and walks through the yard and ACROSS THE STREET!! to the beach.

Bill Sables and Max disappear up the river in kayaks. Soon they return, grinning from ear to ear. Then Bill picks up the melodian and sings a heart-capturing song that was "written by a mate of mine". Max takes a moment from playing with his new recording equipment to knock out some Mississippi blues...

Dick Greenhaus gets everyone singing along with "Dropkick Me Jesus"...

Susan of DT joins Dick in singing a capstan song...

Bert gets us all giggling with his "Size Doesn't Matter"...

David stops playing his dobro for long enough to pick up his cane which he aims and fires at a passing jet-skier...

There are scarcely enough words to describe some of the uniquely wonderful moments which were all integral parts of a fabulous weekend gathering at Anna and Glenn's lovely home.

My thanks to Annap and to all the other 'Catters who made it such a memorable event.

Anyone who can possibly make it to Anna's August 14th gathering is certain to have a most enjoyable time.

The gathering was fantastic. Anna and Glen were wonderful hosts. Thanks guys, you made us all feel very comfortable and at home. It is always a great pleasure for me to meet the folks behind the code names here at the cat. My highlights:

Kayaking with Bill Sables, sleeping the night on the hammock waking to walk 5 feet and jumping in the river, the sing over water with a gentle breeze and a perfect temperature on the dock. Anna, Glen and all their friends were wonderful to all of us. Thank you again.

Oh, and The Fantastic Anna gave me an old turntable so now I can digitize all my old Zeppelin, I mean, uh, Woody Guthrie?... Thanks Anna, when I get it set up I'll let you know how it works.

I'm seriously depressed that I missed it. A five or six hour drive for that much fun would have been worth it.

"A five or six hour drive" would most certainly have been worth it. My friend, David and I hit rush hour at about the time we got near New Jersey. So it ended up being about eight hours for us. It was only seven on the way back on Sunday. Either way, it was well worth it. I wish I could make it there in August. I can't remember the name of the radio announcer who once said, "Don't miss it if you can!"
