24 Oct 09 - 03:29 AM (#2751524) Subject: RE: New Tom Russell CD From: evansakes I've been listening to the new album (Blood and Candle Smoke) a lot in the past week. Great production with lots of 'south of the border' flavour courtesy of Calexico and some songs are up there with his very best (Santa Ana Wind, Guadalupe). All Music Guide seem to suggest in their review that it's a career high http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:kzfpxzealdhe but for me he'll never top "The Man From God Knows Where" which takes me on a journey more than any other CD I think I've ever heard |
