See all the guest list and other information on the festival web site. New for this year is additional parking for caravans and campervans closer to the town centre venues (VERY near to the great Black Bank pub!) this also means we can accommodate far more vans, although it still looks as if we will sell out of space in the next few weeks so if you haven't already booked book quickly. As always we have planned in a Catters meet - this will be at The Old Black Bank on Saturday afternoon 3pm - 5pm hosted as always by Hils (MGAS) this is a totally free event so even if you don't have a festival ticket pop in and say hello! As well as the usual host of concerts, folk clubs and singarounds, there will be the fantastic Craft Fair in the Civic Hall followed by the Grand Ceilidh with Pete Grassby and The Aardvark Ceilidh Band. This year we have a really spectacular set of dance displays throughout the town centre (well in excess of 150 dancers!). Proceedings begin 5:30pm on Friday and go through (almost continuously!) to closing time Sunday evening. Highlights of the week-end will doubtlessly include the Friday evening late session dedicated to the memory of Johnny Collins who has been the backbone of the festival since it's inception, some special themed events include Derek Giffords "Birds in Song" and Liz Holland and Jeff Parton with their latest show - so there is something for everyone. We are currently working on the programme which should be on the web site by the end of the month. The Salt Town Poets were there a few years ago and nearly fried in one of the conference rooms. Apparently the heating system was controlled by computer from nearby Nuneaton and nobody in Bedworth could override the system. As I said at the time, I've been hot at Middlewich Festival, which is, let's face it, held in the middle of Flaming June, but never, ever, that hot. Just wondered. Have a great festival, folks. |

By all means start earlier if you want - but be mindful of the risk!. We sent you a full running order over the week-end but your server is still not accepting it (see PM). The running order on the web site is now "final" (or as final as these things can be!) ... and the weather forecast for the weekend ....mild but wet, sunshine sunday - that could be the first time we have EVER had sunshine at Bedworth Festival! When I got to the Black Bank on Sunday,I was wearing a short-sleeved shirt,and donned one of Sue's tatter jackets,but by the end of "Upton",I was so cold that I reverted to leather jacket and cloth cap, so that's me playing my harmonica and "improperly dressed" ! But it was a good turn-out,though, and the Brose caravan park was OK, if a bit far away from things !( Mini-bus & driver needed for next year,Malc !). And the "clash" between Mudgatherers and Other Musicians in the pub was rather unfortunate----perhaps another bar,or even another pub,would be better ? |

Lots of my very favourite performers on the programme & I got a few songs in too *grin* (many thanks for your kind words you lovely folks, cheques in post) Wonderful to see and hear so many Catters at the MudGather, I'm just so sorry that the Cat took so long to get around the room, which meant that several Catters left before we could hear them. I usually announce that people should let me know if they need to go early so that I can try to fit everyone in, but I must have forgotten, I am sorry! One of the highpoints for me was that Abuwood set up her phone so that Treaties1 could listen in, we were so glad that Theresa could join us. Thanks Alison!! Malc and I were very busy over the weekend but still managed to enjoy ourselves - Well I did and I hope Malc did especially during the Rock 'n' Roll interlude on Friday evening, which he took part in and seemed to go down very well. I would like to personally thank those of you who were guest acts for your contribution to the weekend and also those of you who were stewards. Your help in making the festival safe for everyone was very much appreciated. Thank you everyone! I promise I will do something about the way the Rota is sent out for next year!!! The greatest thanks have to go to those who actually bought tickets, without you we would not have a festival - we are looking forward to welcoming you next year so don't forget to book early!! It just remains for me to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and Happy 2010. Look forward to seeing you on the circuit of festivals next year. Best regards Gill |

It is nice to play in venues where you can see the whites of the audiences eyes and it feels more like an expanded friendly folk club. In some ways much more preferable than being on high distant stages. To those who enjoyed the sets, we hope to see you next year around the circuit next year. To answer a question above, they rehearse monthly and we are very familiar with the M50mph (M6 North). Best Wishes |
