12 Oct 09 - 06:52 AM (#2744001) Subject: Theresa Tooley (Treaties) Update From: nutty Many people have been asking about Theresa and even though there is nothing good to add to the previous bad news I thought I needed to post an update. I went to see Theresa on Saturday and was saddened by her condition. She can't talk or eat. Walking has begun to be a problem and she has lost the confidence to go out (even accompanied this is very difficult). Although she can still write with a pen she is losing some fine finger control so she finds typing difficult which has limited her use of the computer. The most distressing aspect of her condition is her constant battle to breath and deal with the saliva she produces which, if she tries to swallow, tends to choke her. Having fought the condition for so long she is becoming tired of the daily battle to survive. Particularly as no one can predict how long this will go on and the medical profession have given all the help they are able. Although I love her dearly, I left wishing and hoping that she could soon find some peace. |

04 Nov 09 - 11:24 AM (#2759428) Subject: RE: Theresa Tooley (Treaties) Update From: Big Mick I am smiling at the thought of this wee lass, with the big voice. She is one of those people who change the air pressure in a room, just by walking in. Please pass on to her that Big Mick thinks of her often and fondly. It is quite a testament to the grand lady she is that wherever she trod, the path is crowded with friends. As to her condition, it is a vile thing, and I detest it. There is something wrong in the world when one who brings such joy to others is laid low with this. All the best, Mick |

Little tiny grey haired lady bellowing "Get out of my way. Crippled lady coming through." Jacqui and I had the best fun once with one of those. LOL And Tom has taken to using them since he hurt his foot. Great possibilities for an afternoon out. no coffee at the office this morning - that's my excuse and I am sticking to it. SINS |

04 Dec 09 - 09:26 AM (#2780473) Subject: RE: Theresa Tooley (Treaties) Update From: SINSULL Theresa will appreciate this: An old lady, at 70, decided that it was time to get married again. She put an ad in the local paper that read: HUSBAND WANTED: MUST BE IN MY AGE GROUP (70's), MUST NOT BEAT ME, MUST NOT RUN AROUND ON ME & MUST STILL BE GOOD IN BED!!!!! ALL APPLICANTS PLEASE APPLY IN PERSON. On the second day, she heard the doorbell. Much to her dismay, she opened the door to see a grey-haired gentleman sitting in a wheelchair. He had no arms or legs. The old woman said, 'You're not really asking me to consider you, are you? Just look at you...you have no legs! The old man smiled, 'And therefore, I cannot run around on you!' She snorted, 'You don't have any arms either!' Again, the old man smiled, 'And therefore, I can never beat you!' She raised an eyebrow and asked intently, 'Are you still good in bed???' The old man leaned back, beamed a big smile and said, 'Rang the doorbell, didn't I?' |

05 Dec 09 - 10:57 AM (#2781307) Subject: RE: Theresa Tooley (Treaties) Update From: GUEST,Bryony & Jock We just remember Theresa from many Whittleburys. She told us off for not practising while we were sitting in the horsebox, on duty but with nothing to do. So we started singing with gusto and got a message from Barbara in The Barn to keep it down because we were interfering with the Big Sing!!! T of course had disappeared having got us into trouble!!! We still laugh heartily over this. Loads of love from us Theresa - Jock's PD is nothing in comparison with what you are bearing. XXXXXXXXXXXX
