MacDonald's franchises in Iceland are required to buy all their supplies from Germany making their prices outrageously high. The franchise owner is the one who has been hurt the most - those franchises cost a small fortune. He is re-opening them. Apparently, there is a market for fast food just not over-priced fast food. I was somewhat amused that amid Iceland's really serious financial troubles and their long term repercussions, someone thought the loss of a Big Mac was worth noting. skarpi, I apologize. In no way did I mean to make light of Iceland's problems. And I promise you that at the next Getaway I will provide a sack of Big Macs for the Icelandic contingent along with a larger sack of Alka Seltzer (which by the way is useful in curing urinary tract infections). Slow day at work. I am full of useless information. |
