Is Down Among the Budded Roses the same song you're looking for?

Is it "when the roses bloom in Dixieland, I'm coming home to you" that you are looking for? If so I'll provide words. If it's the Mac and Bob song, others have already responded.

Pete, I've been meaning to ask for the Dixie lyrics for some time. I heard it once about 15 years ago and fell in love with it. If anyone could point me to the tune I'd appreciate it - otherwise I'll post the version in my head and see how close I get.

Regards, John

For a bit of the tune in RA, go to CD Universe

Lots of other good songs on the page, too.

Chor: When the roses bloom in Dixieland I am coming home to you
When the band is playing music grand to the sweetest gal I knew
I am saving up my money To buy a little cabin home for two
When the roses bloom in Dixieland I am coming home to you

1) I got a letter from the sunny South
From my girl in Tennessee
She says she loves me like she used to do
And she's waiting there for me
I answered her her letter
Though I am far away
When the roses bloom in Dixieland
I'm coming home to stay

2) I left my honey at the railroad track
Saying honey wait for me
I'm going to make a lot of money up North
Then it's me for old Tennessee

have fun--PETE
