Tom & Barbara are shortly to depart the wilds of North Devon for a few gigs in the South Eastern Counties (why do they call them the Home Counties?).

It would be lovely to see some of you at them.

Thursday 19th: Folk at the Drum, The Drum, Stone Street, Stanford, Kent TN25 6DN Contact: 01797 320518/07890 292467
Had a lovely time the last time we were there – packed out and great chorus singing.

Friday 20th: Folk at the Pump House, The Pump House, Local Board Road, Lower High Street, Watford, Herts. WD17 2JP Contact: 01923 221701/07710 204774
A relatively new club, and one that we're really looking forward to visiting for the first time.

Saturday 21st: Lewes Saturday Folk Club, Elephant & Castle, White Hill, Lewes, E. Sussex BN7 2DJ Contact: 01273 476757
One of our favourite clubs in the whole country! We'll be leading one of the club's ever popular Ballad Forums during the day, then looking forward to the usual high quality performances from the regulars, and enjoying all they give back to us as their guests.

Tuesday 24th: Romford Folk Club, The Sun, 47 London Road, Romford, Essex RM7 9QA Contact: 01708 447061
Many years since we've guested at Romford, and we're sure it will be as good a night as it ever was!

Hope to see you there!

Barbara

Here's the thread about the Browns' ballad forum and evening performance at the Lewes Saturday Folk Club on 21st. November.

Looking forward to it immensely (and brushing up a ballad with no deaths in it, for once)

Valmai

Goodyear Towers is going to be rather full and someone is going to have to sleep with the tortoise. This could provide material for a ballad, but I hope not as it's my son's tortoise and I'm looking after it while he's in Australia.

Will it recognise him when he comes back?

dunno 'bout da tortoise and your lad Valmai, but I worry that I may never be recognised when I am next able to get to The Elly.

Once again the day(night, weekend and every other bloody time)job prevents me being there this weekend.

Have a good one Tom and Barbara

Dave

Of course we'll recognise you, Dave, the minute you win the bottle of red wine in the raffle!

Time to change the job, methinks, Dave. We'll miss you!

Wish I could change the job Barbara but at "Bus Pass" plus there are very few options and giving it up alltogether wouldn't give enough to live on.

Sorry can't be there

Even more depressed in Hove now.

Redundancy looms !!!!!

Might mean more time for some things but less money to do 'em

Where's me gin bottle?
