It occurs to me that I have a record featuring Chris Woods, and another by Oak. My daughter, on the other hand, is a big fan of Ash. Do any other recordings/performers/songs suggest themselves, dear reader? |

People would. understandably, call them Royston & Heather Wood; but this erroneously suggested a non-existent relationship, either husband/wife or brother/sister: they once made a record together called 'No Relation'. Folk Review magazine was founded & edited by Fred Woods, also director of Argo records, novelist & spy-thriller-writer, & an authority on Winston Churchill on whose life & work he did a PhD [despite having no '1st degree'] just before he died of cancer in the 1990s. He was a close friend of ours. And there was, of course, Woody Guthrie... |

06 Dec 09 - 11:26 AM (#2782119) Subject: RE: The Music of Arboriculture From: MGM·Lion Yes, thanks for reminder — Trees were one of the early folk-rock groups: quite good singer I recall called Celia Humphris; but that habit so prevalent at time of irrelevant & interminable instrumental breaks in the middle of every track so that by time they started singing again you had forgotten what the bloody song was about. |

My strictures, btw, were just the way I saw/heard it at the time (& reviewed the group to that FK, in I think it was, the Times Ed Sup that I waas folk critic for at the time): not everybody has to agree [he conceded graciously!]. |
