Richard - I can see that the photo of your Anglo has been posted by you on Facebook's Stolen Instrument Gallery, so herewith a link for those on here who might want sight of a photo of your Anglo Photo of the missing Anglo, and Facebook entry

Do you have photos of the other missing items which you could put up on the Gallery?

I'd have thought a polkadot melodeon would be instantly identifiable!

i'll never understand why an international forum has a thread like this without a complete description of the place in which the robbery occurred.

Hardly the FORUM's fault, O critical guest.

Richard - Keith and I feel for you - burglaries are bad enough, but especially when they take irreplacable items.

Hope you are lucky and get your instruments back.

xx

Sylvia

Actually "Wiltshire" doesn't automatically denote UK to some of us. Remember we colonists copied place names when we settled.:-)

Good luck on getting your instrument back. I cannot imagine the distress you must feel.

All the best,

kat

This from Richard Harris

Hi,
I wonder if you could help me. I have just been burgled and my precious and distinctive 32key Jefferies anglo in F/Bflat (slightly sharp of concert pitch, in a hand made rectangular oak box with a leather case handle, key on a leather lace and dark grey felt lining) has been stolen - along with a Honer polkadot G/D melodeon and an old C/Csharp four stop melodian. Is ther any way in which this information could be circulated through the SAD network in the hope that these instruments, particularly my anglo, I, or Wiltshire police would be grateful for any information.
Richard Harris.
richardandkateharris@googlemail.com

I have emailed him to see if he can supply any photos to put Stolen Instrument Gallery on Facebook. SAD is the Somerset and Dorset Folk Network, so presumably he lives somewhere in that area.

Thanks for that Vic.
The Facebook Gallery has had some success in recovering instruments. But a timely reminder to everyone, wherever you may live. Take lots of photos of your precious instruments, serial numbers, any distinguishing marks. we've all got digital cameras nowadays, so a couple of hours photographing all your babies would be time well spent.
And I'm still looking for my early 70's Fylde. I miss it dreadfully.

Have also sent a message to all members of the group (which includes several UK Dealers) so, if the little toe-rag who did the burglary sticks his head above the parapet, with luck, he'll get his collar felt. (UK slang for an interesting discussion with the Police!)
So, go and have a look, it's a lovely looking instrument.
Good luck Richard. We're all rooting for you.

Good luck, Richard. There aren't that many 32 key Jeffries. I'll keep a lookout in Yorkshire for it over the coming year.

Richard and the devine Kate are always welcome performers at the Village Pump Folk Club. They stay just up the road from me in Bradford on Avon which I think is unique - no colonial copies. Best wishes for the return of the instruments.
