I'm working on a set list that I thought you might be able to help with. I once wrote a Valentine's Day song once for a friend going through major emotional issues - the song is pretty brutal, and mercifully unrecorded. Let's see, there must be something from Townes Van Zandt. How about "Our Mother the Mountain?" As far as making them swoon, how about Utah Phillips's "Nevada Jane" - a wonderful love story with a social conscience. For just plain fun, you can use Martin Carthy's recording of "King Knapperty" - the love between the king and queen of slobs. Dan |
