Obit: Beths Mum Thank you Dan!

Sadly we got the message at 6.30am on Mothering Sunday that Beth's mother had passed away.

It's a bit eerie really, because I had listened to Dan's song, Memorial Day, only the day before and thinking how powerful the lyrics were.

Needless to say they fit this occasion perfectly and I have now done a little tribute to Beth's mum and dad. Some of the pictures have been seen before, but these are photos of where they lived and where Beth was raised, North Yorkshire Moors and surrounding areas, so they hold very dear memories for her. The Church at the end is where her mum will join her dad on Friday so they will be united for evermore.

Thank you Dan for this wonderful song that gives them a fitting tribute. I have put it on Youtube so it can be available to other members of the family.

Here

John

oh my... I love that Memorial Day song... Dan sent me a link when I was going through patch of repeat bereavement.

How sad to lose a mother on Mothering Sunday. My thoughts are with you and Beth.

Beth says thank you so much for the thoughts and comments from you lovely people.

It only just hit Danny (8yrs), all of a sudden he burst into tears and said "I don't want it to happen to you Mummy and Daddy" so that brought a lump to my throat, bearing in mind I am 70 this year it's making me wonder what it will do to him if I get called soon, I hate these kind of thoughts!

We are off to Yorkshire tomorrow and hope to return on Sunday.

Thank you again

John and Beth

Beautiful song, Dan- and John, the photos are beautifully placed.

As for 'leaving' on Mothering Sunday', I have my own thoughts on that. It has happened quite frequently, both in my own life and in the lives of others, that there has been a climactic end on a significant day, so much so that it is my suspicion that somehow it is significant. Perhaps I am correct in believing that we all get to choose- on some subliminal level - the day and manner of our death.

That is what I choose to believe, anyway. So I would say: Cherish the day and the thought behind it.
