Lyr Req: Arkansas Hard Luck Blues (Lonnie Glossom)

And maybe I am not too swift about finding lyrics. But I would sure like some help in getting the words for this. It includes such lines as:

"Father laid us out on the bed and said, Liza pick the one you want, well drown the rest. ..."
....
I've been knocked down, knocked over and knocked up..."
....
And the only reason I'm hanging around is to find out what in hell is going to happen next."

That last line really gets me. I sure do relate to that. So I hope someone can cheer my day...

That's a near-quote from a different song I enjoy singing, whose first line and title is:
How do I know my youth is all spent?"

The line there is,
I'll still stick around to see what happens next."

It was on the LP The New Lost City Ramblers, Vol Three under the title Talking Hard Luck, with John Cohen doing the talking. As with the Digitrad entry, Lonnie Glosson is given as the source. You can learn more about Glosson here.

I forgot to mention that it's available on the Smithsonian Folkways CD, The New Lost City Ramblers: The Early Years, 1958 - 1962.
