know anything about Red Molly?

We have a chance to get Red Molly for a performance in Juneau, Alaska. I've checked their history and reviews and listened to them on YouTube on a number of songs.

So far it all seems good. Is anyone here familiar with them? They are a fairly new group, formed as a band in 2004.

I know that they are wildly popular here in NH- I haven't seen them but my friends rave so much that I'll make sure not to miss them next time they're here!

I have seen Red Molly at a house concert and at the New Bedford (MA) Summerfest. They sing wonderful harmonies. I would gladly see them again. They have several video clips on YouTube which might help you decide.

Has Red Molly got "red hair and black leather, my favourite colour-schemes?"

Book them!!!   I've known all three members since their pre-Red Molly days. They are fantastic. I had the honor of writing an article about them last year in Sing Out!

They have a very large following in our area. We've presented them twice at the Hurdy Gurdy and the response was wonderful. They present an excellent show - a terrific blend of songs that range from their original compositions to trad songs to songs from contemporary singer-songwriters. Each member of Red Molly adds their unique personality to the blend - and the harmonies are amazing.   You will love Abbie Gardner and her dobro and slide guitar work is stunning.

They are playing Merlefest this spring and their popularity continues to grow. I highly recommend Red Molly for a memorable evening of music!

We had them at The Borderline 2 years ago and they sold the place out. Definitely book them. They are fabulous. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

Came here expecting something about Richard Thompsons Vincent Black Lightning 1952 - and left with a very warm feeling about a very different beautiful song. Thanks for introducing me to "May I Suggest"

I love Red Molly. I stumbled across them on Youtube a year or so ago, probably in a related video to the Thompson song. I've been enjoying them every since. I would definitely go see them if they played anywhere in my area.

Tonight is the night when Red Molly plays! It's too bad it is a Sunday but it was the only day available. I hope for a good house anyway. Our venue only seats 125 with a few more to squeeze in.

Whew! Stellar performance!! They brought the house down with their intricate and very tight harmonies! And they're a lot of fun, too! Outstanding performers!

We discovered that there must be a lot of Red Molly fans in Juneau. A great many people attended whom we had never seen before. We had more than a full house.

Juneau has two (or even distinct areas: downtown and in the valley. They are less than 10 miles apart but each has its own bars, music venues and clientele.

Jerry Reed, the country singer and guitarist, once came to town (downtown) and I went because he was one of the icons when I was young. It was a large crowd - and I knew only three people in the queue! And of those three, one was the sound man.

I think that last night the valley people attended.

Red Molly put on a great show; I hope we can get them back someday.

Incidentally, they did something I haven't seen before. They put a bin by their CDs saying that their main wish is to get their music 'out there' so pay what you wish.

We sold a lot of CDs.

Molly Ventner from Texas is the newest member of Red Molly. She replaced Carolann Solabello who has now embarked upon a solo career.

Molly has tremendous energy and spirit. I wasn't counting, but it was my impression that she led more songs than the other two did. All three have lovely, true voices.

And Abby, the dobro player- she's great. I like Jerry Douglas, but Abby has an ease and playfulness with the dobro that I haven't seen equalled.

I'm glad to read that the concert went well and attracted a good crowd.

I didn't know Carolann had left the group. I am happy to hear that Molly has done well as here replacement. Of course, now new fans will think Molly organized the group!

By the way, I've been to Juneau briefly on cruise-tour and would love to go back, but there are so many places I've never been!

We had Red Molly here at the 2013 National Folk Festival in Canberra Australia, and I would say they were the standout act of Festival.

Four appearances in four days. Got to see them three times.

Only wish that they had more of their CD for Sale.
