MY DREAMBOAT STRUCK A SNAG has been reissued on the various-artists album "Hillbilly Bop, Boogie and the Honky Tonk Blues, Vol. 1: 1948-1950" Jasmine CD 3560, 2005. There is another recording by Bob Eaton & The Lone Stars, on "Nashville, Vol. 2: Mason Dixie Boogie" and "Decca Hillbilly Volume 2" I was able to transcribe this much from a sample: ...My sweetheart went and left me, then my troubles did begin. My golden-laden dreamboat is gone now with the wind, 'Cause my dreamboat struck a snag an' my troubles are pourin' in. When twenty-one, I married the sweetest thing in town. She put right on my britches and then she slapped me down.... |
