A new tradition in the making - song, music, dance and village life... ...by the village, for the community, for visitors, for everyone!

Garway, in the very south west corner of rural Herefordshire and only a mile or so from the Welsh border, has a lot of history and a lot of tradition. And now we're adding a new tradition - the Garway Folk Weekend.

Great guests, Song sessions, Music sessions, Shanty session, Ceilidh, Concerts, Showcases, Music and Song Workshops, Morris sides, Floor spots, Young musicians meet, Rural crafts, Village market, Guided walk, Camping, Village breakfasts, Food stalls. £25 adults, £12.50 teens, children free.

Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer, Tom and Barbara Brown, Hoover the Dog, Dave Totterdell and Hilary Pavey, Shropshire Bedlams, many more - see the website http://www.garwayfolkweekend.org.uk.

We need more stewards, too - free tickets!

the ceilidh don't forget the ceilidh. If I can make it I will. Stewarding - hmmm - tempting.

Thanks Connie! We'll do our best - it's a bit scary oranising your first festie, but invigorating too. The people at Bromyard have been really supportive, and we've had advice from Priddy too. Aren't people nice?

Speaking of which Mr Red, I'll email you a copy of the draft programme anyway, but the ceilidh is on Saturday evening with the Bordewey Young Band, Lynne Barker (and possibly some guests) calling.

Just counted up, and we really do need EIGHT more stewards minimum - the young farmers are all ready to help but we need more people from the folk world too. Please, everybody, consider stewarding - all stewards get at least one session in a concert or other event, so it's not just car parks and toilets!

Oh, and hello to anybody who remembers me from the old C# House days in the sixties and from Radio Solent in the seventies - just had some facebook contact which took me back a good few years!
