I think it is about a young kid playing football in his street and fantasising about being a famous player, isn't it? Is there a line in the chorus, "And I scored three goals for ??? today"? |

20 May 10 - 08:41 PM (#2910951) Subject: Lyr Add: BACK STREET INTERNATIONAL (R Digance) From: Commander Crabbe Hi, here it is. I've put all the chorus's in full as the third one differs slightly in that it repeats "I'm a backstreet" four times before finishing with "International" It is quite a long track as Richard sticks quite a bit of instrumental playing in between the verses. After the third chorus it segues quite quickly into a line from "Walk On" then straight into the first four chorus lines which he repeats a couple of times before fading. BACK STREET INTERNATIONAL (Richard Digance) I'm just eleven but I ain't stupid My feet are firm on the ground. I was born on the wrong side of London To see the sun shining down. But at least I have my dreams. And some people don't know what that means. So don't pity my bashed about shoes. I can be anyone that I chose. I'm an international And that's all I wanna be. An International And that's good enough for me. I'm a backstreet I'm a backstreet. International. I'm just eleven but I ain't stupid I know I'll never make the grade. I know I'll have more chance of climbing a mountain Or makin' it in the hit parade. But at least I have my dreams. I can play for all the winning teams. Oh I know they're gonna have to wait a while But someday they'll marvel at my style I'm an international And that's all I wanna be. An International And that's good enough for me. I'm a backstreet I'm a backstreet. International. I'm just eleven but I ain't stupid For an hour every night after school And an hour before assembly this backyard is my Wembley I've sure hit some goals against this wall But I know I'm running out of time This could be the end of the line Oh the big time's a million miles away But I scored for England today I'm an international And that's all I wanna be. An International And that's good enough for me. I'm a backstreet I'm a backstreet. I'm a backstreet I'm a backstreet. International. (Segue into) Walk on, Walk on, with hope in your heart (Then repeat a couple of times into a fade) I'm an international And that's all I wanna be. An International And that's good enough for me If you are struggling for the tune I can get it on to cassette (maybe CD if I can get a line into my laptop, but I don't know yet as I haven't tried to do it before) just PM me. Enjoy CC |

I too asked Richard himself and just about everyone who works with him and nobody had a copy... If anyone has a copy as an mp3 and wouldnt mind sending me it I would be so grateful... Its quite an inspirational song and it left an impression on me from a young age... Richard is so clever in his music... Dean |
