The aim is to promote a common interest in:

It will begin on Wednesday June 16th 2010 and on alternate Wednesday evenings thereafter. Start 8:00pm.

Ah you are going to see those meaty Jock's who wear nothing under their kilt's. :-)

Or maybe a round of golf.

Hope you enjoy it. Watch those midges. They are vicious at this time of the year. :-)

However, have a really nice time.

The singaround will have it's own room, which will make it ideal without disturbance from the bar. The owner is one of the best and will make everybody welcome.
You can even have a meal in the bar before hand if you so wish.
Here is the link and you will see the room we will use at the bottom of the page.

Do come along and hoepfully this could be the start of a great singaround.

Arthur

It was always fairly quiet at the bar when we had music nights in there before but a separate room sounds even better.

The problem with the bar Rockhen, is that it's main thoroughfare for people coming into the pub, which can be quite disruptive in the middle of a singaround.
Slightly different if it was a session.

After all the hype - back to Earth with a bang eh, Arthur?
Bloody good job we had Heskey, best English performance by a mile.
IMHO, YMMV!!

Subject: RE: Singaround Hope Tavern Lincs LN7 6AH UK

Indeed BWM

I have to say that heskey (I am not a fan of his) played really well and agree with your comments.

As for Green Fingers - well words can't express my delight at giving the yanks a point. Has he been got at by Obama :-) I thought it was bad enough having Calamity James in the squad.

13 Jun 10 - 05:08 AM (#2926642)
Subject: RE: Singaround Hope Tavern Lincs LN7 6AH UK
From: Backwoodsman

GK is the most difficult position on the field, IMHO, Arthur. If outfield players were slaughtered for one mistake the way goalkeepers are, there wouldn't be anyone left in the team!

Seems most unfair to claim that Green 'lost the game' for England - if our bungling forwards had scored from every opportunity (instead of buggering all but one of them up) Green's one mistake wouldn't have mattered.

Any team that hopes to win the World Cup by scoring only one goal in every game is odds-on to be very disappointed.

And as for Calamity James, he's made more than his fair share of f**k-ups over the years, and some people are still claiming that he's a 'great goalkeeper'. Hmmmmmmmm...............

IMHO, as always. YMMV! :-)

Anyway............was somebody saying there's a Singaround at the Hope on Wednesday??

13 Jun 10 - 06:01 AM (#2926653)
Subject: RE: Singaround Hope Tavern Lincs LN7 6AH UK
From: Arthur_itus

Well of course one player doesn't make a team, but England seems to get it's fair share of goalkeepers these days, that seem to make schoolboy errors. That can affect the rest of the defence.
It's just very disapointing to see these things happen. I was glad when Calamity left the Villa. I agree he is not the best either.

Yes there is a singaround on Wednesday and here is hoping that it will turn out to be a very nice evening.

What a really nice evening and a great turnout. I was really impressed with the quality of all singers.

The room that we used just about squeezed evrerybody in. Next time on June 30th, the owner has agreed to using the bar purely for the singaround.

Graeme, the owner was very impressed and really enjoyed it.

Thanks to all who attended.

It was a teeny bit squashed, I mean, cosy!... but a good night. You can never tell how many people are going to turn up to these things!
Hope it continues to be well-supported.
