Those that kow the place know how much the morris sides, musicians are so warmly welcomed, so those that can support the day, its a day for help the heros, so if you can do it please do.
OH AND THEY GOT THE C.A.M.R.A AWARD AGAIN

How about a Boulton Paul Defiant? They looked rather like a Hurricane wit a 4-gun turret right behind the cockpit - but no forward cannon. As a mixed formation with Hurris they were formidable because a Hun coming from behind the cockpit of a Hurri would find himself facing the Defiant turrets, and one coming head on at a Defiant would find himself facing the cannot of the Hurris.

see spits were not the only ones, sad that more of them dont exsist, probably the wood and fabric construction, but i still prefer the hurricane,

I have sat in a Spitfire cockpit that fought during the battle of Britain on several occasions.
Benefits of working in a Museum. Its a bugger of a tight fit but comfortable wise its not bad?

I have my pre-op for the new knee on Monday next, and that is usually two to three weeks before the op.

So I may be in hospital on the 18th.

If I'm out I shall be there.

if people come they come , i got moaned at for not posting things in time, so i posted months ago, well as far as im concerned this is the last one that i will be involved in, if some one else wants to put something on , do it , i wash my hands of it.
The venue is about the most genuine one that really wants folk, and morris there.
they are not looking for getting loadsa money out of it, like so many other pubs . they have been awarded camra best pub etc year after year, they lay on a great spread for nothing, yet no one really bothers with the place. the new staff work so bloody hard for us, its a shame.
so please your selves come or not, i refuse to be botherd any more.

Is it true that Crayford are having the Wild (H)unt back in October? Have they expelled their BNP member then?

It's quite a nice pub but I'll be in Deal too, and I think KtC and Dilligaff are rewriting history since the necrophiliacs (oh, sorry, re-enactors) will pay for their camping, beer, and food!

Wild Hunt are dancing at the Crayside Festival, and I know nothing of the politics of their members. It was hard enough to get a Morris Side without enquiring after their credentials.

Sorry again Cuz. I have done Deal Festival for quite a number of years running the session in The Bohemian garden, so it was already booked on leaving last year otherwise I would have gladly been at The Crayford Arms. If you go to this website :- http://www.frootsmag.com/content/festivals/gb/ you'll see most of the festivals are there (although strangely Deal isn't there) and this should help avoiding clashes. Deal by the way always seems to happen over the 3rd weekend in September.

"Maybe for once oppression will put enough spunk into the downtrodden in this country to rise against capitalist corruption. Remember that Marx predicted that Capitalism would be destroyed by its internal contradictions. Maybe we are starting to see them" - Guest Fido from the thread BS. No longer Great Britain?

Maybe you have another agenda unrelated to Morris Dancing Fido

well a good time was had by all that did attend, i hope, the food went down a treat as did the various beers, as the gongscourers were the only side there , dancing went on a bit longer than was planned,
the singers and musicians had yet another lovely sunny day to sing and play in the garden.
as far as i know the hunt are not at the arms or even on the agenda any time soon, as for bringing politics to morris sides, sod off,
well as my last event mention on mudcat i would just like to remind those that may be interested, st georges day bash 2011 will be on the saturday for this regular bash, hope thats enough notice.

Thanks to all at The Crayford Arms for another enjoyable afternoon. A great pub with really friendly locals and a fantastic landlady. Free food is laid on - not your usual buffet - this is a proper meal Curry, Pie & Chips and more! even Sausage & Chips for the kids! Gong Scourers were brilliant as usual. Folkmobbers in attendance: Myself, Dave Kenningham. Pete T'Hat, Linda & Al also the great Don Thompson.

I can't understand why local folkies are not supporting this! If they don't get off their bums and get to these events then they will fold.

Thanks to Romany Man and Sharon and all the others whose names I don't know.

the food is just one part of the arms, i dont know of any other venue that takes folk so seriously, they do it for the love of folk not the love of a pound note as most other venues do, generally it costs them money to put things on, but as woodsie says people are going to loose this venue if they are not carefull, sad but so very true, they even had a kids street party on the sunday where the local kids came and had a good old sing song and a forties theme street party,
the whole weekend raised funds for the help for heros fund, i for one was glad to be part of it, sadly now i have had enough of the disinterest and will simply be posting events for the pub,

I enjoyed the day/
Everyone there morris , singers players, Cooks , Bar staff all showed full colors in regards too a Excellent day. The thing that spoiled it was 123456789 .
But this event clashes with other events and if folk are elsewhere then thats because its also good event.

some folk I know travel from May to September and only hit home to change there pants and underwear? an good luck to them?
When I retire
"I,ll do the same thing?

It was a good event Romany Man"
but people were at other events
I took day off work.
and I am glad I did.

I noticed some folk didn't say Hello knowing me
But I nodded?
Kind regards Pierre.
