22 Jun 10 - 12:42 AM (#2932441) Subject: Need help with songs about 'The Border' From: GUEST,BigDaddy I'm compiling a list of songs that are either about the border between the US and Mexico, or tell stories that take place in the general region. I'm trying to have enough to get me through a three hour gig. Right now what I have/am working on includes 'Across the Border' (Springsteen), 'Across the Borderline' (Cooder), 'Cancion Mixteca' (Alavez), 'Deportee' (Guthrie), 'Mazatlan' (Stewart), 'Pancho and Lefty' (Van Zandt), 'Pour Me Another Tequila, Sheila' (Bare), 'Seven Spanish Angels' (Setson, Seals), 'Spanish Is the Loving Tongue' (Clark). They can be serious, funny, whatever. Any suggestions will be appreciated. |
