Is Peter Green (FMac) still worth seeing

Huge lover of his playing from the 60s onwards until his disappearance and haven't enormously been impressed by the Splinter Band. He's playing locally at the end of the month and was interested on anyone who might have seen him in the recent past.

He was in Frome the weekend of Chippenham. Not heard any reports either way.

I have heard that recent (last few years) performances have been rather scatter-shot. Fact is, Greenie was out of the game for decades, then made a tiny little ripple in the guitar-freak scene with the "Robert Johnson Songbook" album he did with Splinter Group.

I have not kept up with his career since, but, again, I understand that there have been times when his former excellence has shone through and then there have been times when it seemed people were just coming out to gawk at the once mighty. Kind of like a gorilla that used to rule his jungle, now still imposing but ultimately a shadow.

I hope, for the sake of Peter's health and well-being, that he is able to regain enough creative flow and chops to be able to play on and not have to scrounge for work like us mere mortals.

He was very good with the Splinter Group when I saw them in 2003, can't answer for his recent form.

Listened to 5 minutes of a gig from earlier this year and deleleted it - because it was so awful, such a shame as I remember seeing him several times in early Fleetwood Mac including their debut at the Windsor Blues Festival, and he was among the best. I wish him good health.
