Amusing music ...

What happened to the musician that robbed the bank?
He made off with the lute.

Found this joke today which made me think of you delightful people. This is most likely a silly question (not that I am implying the humour here is less than subtlely sophisticated), but in this case I desire a silly answer:

Anyone have other jokes that refer to music? Thanks. :-)

Don't be flat, don't be sharp, be natural!! (worst music joke ever, appears in hundreds of high school yearbooks).

How long does it take to tune a banjo?... Who knows?

What's the diference between a banjo & an onion? Nobody ever cried chopping up a banjo.

( I realize that including banjo jokes in a thread asking for music jokes may be thread creep.

Of course the ur-lightbulb is the UK model with the bayonet fitting. This is known as the traditional lightbulb. When held in the mouth while climbing the stepladder it becomes oral tradition.
When the lightbulb travelled to the Americas it acquired a screw thread. This is the revivalist lightbulb. Of course once it is switched on it becomeselectric and outside the scope of the Mudcat.Torches were introduced for travelling folk and bluespersons to see to ride the rails. As most of them were blind, it didn't matter that they couldn't switch them on. Some people believe Cecil Sharp invented the lightbulb years before "Eddie" Edison (where were you, Eddie) Some people believe that oil lamps are the only true light, these are bluegrass or country lights.
Candles, on the other hand, are Celtic.
What do you mean thread creep? I may have had too many Fast Eddies or was it the mushroom omelette a la Kersey?

Great, Roger!

As to, "How many Mudcatters does it take to change a lightbulb?"

It takes one - Max

The other 99 Mudcatters sit around and tell him what a good job he does of it.

Q. What's the differance between a banjo and a chain saw?

A. You can tune a chainsaw.
B. A chainsaw has dinamic range.
C. The Grip
D. All of the above.

When I was in Antartica, somebody sent me a list of 800 banjo jokes. Very handy as banjos and bagpipes are about the only instruments that us accordion players can make fun of.

Somebody came out with a little tape called "computer songs" I thought it was quite funny.

If you work in a cube, the "Those Darn Accordions" "Hamster man" is quite good.

G'day,
In some countries 'bar' is a musical term, 'measure' in the USA I think. e.g. in 4/4 time there are four beats to the bar.

I walked past a bar once that had four deadbeats in it. Three looked pretty crotchetty (sorry, another non USA musical term), the one on the floor was definitely having a rest.

Cheers,
Alan

A guy goes into a second hand shop and enquires about a golden rat that he saw in the window. The shopkeeper say's "It's £10 for the rat and another £50 for its secret". The guy decides that he just wants the rat and pays for it and leaves the shop.

As he is walking home, all the rats in the area start to follow him and by the time he reaches a bridge, he was fed up with this and blames the golden rat which he throws in the river and the rats all jump in to the river and drown. The next day he returns to the shop and the shopkeeper said "I know, you want the secret", he replies "no I've come to buy the golden banjo that's in the window".

Hear about the first song Canadian jazz musicians learn? "Take the Train, Eh?"

I told the following joke to my boss and her husband, a musician: What do you call a musician with a a home and a steady income? Married. The husband/musican was unemployed, and not terribly amused. If my boss hadn't laughed her ass off, I could have been in serious doo-doo.
