Cheers Betsy --------------------------------------------------------------------- About 3. : I think it is worthwhile mentioning that after many years of vocal contests only, Stan has made it possible for the instrumentalists to step into the lime light. Maybe a small step in general, but a huge leap for Saltburn Folk Festival! Anyway, it was great fun, playing the winning piece again on the Saturday night in the Emmanuel Church hall. The audience reactions proved my feeling that there is a place for complex instrumental folk music on a festival like Saltburn. We (Heartstrings) plan to apply to be part of next year's americana section. (we'll do a lot of vocal material as well, of course ;-) ) Bruno http://home.hccnet.nl/e.beurskens/Skyland/heartstrings.htm |
