Tune Req: Old MacDonald Had A Farm

Could someone post/send me the tune for Old MacDonald?

For my wife's birthday, I want to make a recording that has our two-year-old doing the animal sounds while I play and sing the rest.

Of course, that means that MacDonald is going to have a lion on the farm -- Amelia does a great "roarrrr!"

Thanks.

Is this for real? Eric are you by any chance related to Hiroshi Ogura?

Sorry Eric......I "looked you up" in the forum and found you're an infrequent poster, but have been around here for awhile. Sometimes we (I) get a bit far gone with an insider joke or two and I really didn't mean to offend....If I did, please accept this apology.

Just reading the titles of some of the BS threads, you'll probably have noticed a lot of references to possums. Why is a long story, but at one point, someone by the name of Hiroshi Ogura posted a message in one of the threads. I really thought it was a put-on and now when I'm not sure if I'm being put-on, Hiroshi Ogura becomes my reference to it. There are probably about 60 -80 regular "Denizens" around here on all the threads and a lot of silly stuff gets to going among us that's obscure to newbies or infrequent posters. I've often thought we need TWO welcome messages at the 'Cat..One to explain the history and details of searching the place with a sort of mission statement included because we are first and foremost a folk music site. Then we need an appendix sort of thing to explain some of the "Mudcat Icons" and the general BS that goes on. It would be a lot easier for some to get involved if it didn't take so damn long to figure out what the hell's going on here at times. But we do welcome your input and feel free to stop by more often.......It's a GREAT place.

Catspaw,

No offense taken (ok, just a little, but I got over it in about three seconds when I figured YOU wouldn't be mean).

I'm one of those "frequent listeners, but infrequent posters." I visit at least once each work-day and I've got a binder full of about 200 songs I've pulled from the DT based on what I've read in the threads.

I agree with you, this is a GREAT place.

Eric, will the sheet music do? or did you want a MIDI?

Sheet music (or abc file or any file Musicease compatible) would do nicely. I just don't have enough time away from my bride to puzzle it out by ear without her figuring out I'm up to something.

She's got a late appointment tonight so I'm going to hurry and digitize my daughter doing the animal sounds. I'll record the music and vocals later and "paste" them together using the n-Track software.

Thanks for all the help.

Yah, I saw you offering the GIF, alison; I just wasn't sure from Eric's original post if he wanted a GIF or a MIDI... sorry that wasn't clear.(sounds like he's set). Hate to have to duplicate all your hard work writing it out...

Alison,

I've been waiting with bated breath (but not a muffled oar -- oops, my Gilbert and Sulivan is showing), but haven't received you e-mail yet.

If you can try again, here is a blue clicky thing that should help.

Thanks,

Eric

p.s. Amelia has already delayed the project. She did one animal sound and then called an end to the session so she could go play outside. I think she's about ready for a career in rock-and-roll -- she's got the attitude for it.
