I probably have a few photos of Ali Mills singing this - at this year's National Folk Festival, Canberra, Easter 2010. I won't try linking them - as I gave Ali an undertaking not to allow use or distribution of images of her performing without running them past her for clearance ... and the photos don't have a soundtrack! Ted Egan - now that he's back on the 'folk scene' ... after five years as "Administrator" of the Northern Territory (essentially "Governor" - except that it's a Territory, not a State ...) has also been instrumental in getting Ali onto the "Folk Scene" stages ... although she, and her family, have always been performers of a broad spectrum of Northern Territory traditions. Not sure of the difference between a creole and a pidgin. I think a creole can develop out of a pidgin rather than vice versa. |

I've been teaching the variant from the movie the Coca Cola Kid for decades, but this is the coolest version of the old standby I've heard so I will teach my students the chorus in Kriol and hopefully the second verse if we can master the chorus.
