27 Sep 10 - 08:25 AM (#2994417)
Subject: Frankie Armstrong vocal workshop 13 Nov
From: Valmai Goodyear

Do hurry if you're interested as we've only got three workshop places left. Frankie performs at the Lewes Saturday Folk Club in the evening; plenty of tickets are still available for that.

Lewes Saturday Folk Club Workshop No 137
FRANKIE ARMSTRONG VOICE WORKSHOP
Places £30
Saturday 13th. November 2010
10.45 a.m.- 4.45 p.m.
Elephant & Castle White Hill Lewes BN7 2DJ
A powerful & compelling performer, Frankie has been singing British ballads, rural, industrial, music hall & contemporary songs since the 1960s. She has worked with leading figures of the folk revival such as Louis Killen, Ewan MacColl, Bert Lloyd, Peggy Seeger & Sandra Kerr. Her passion for traditional singing styles has informed the development of her own voice & teaching. She has been a guest tutor at International Voice Conferences in the UK, Australia & North America.
The workshop will explore the melodic voice & how the body/breath/voice is our vocal instrument. Enjoyable & relaxing exercises, improvisations & songs will help release the voice; loose comfortable clothing is essential. Music reading is not necessary.

IN THE EVENING FRANKIE ARMSTRONG PERFORMS AT THE ELEPHANT & CASTLE
Admission £6. Advance tickets from address at end of this form.

Animaterra, how about asking one of your local organisers to put something similar on and perhaps offering to help them?

After the arrival of this morning's post, we've got one place left. I'll be keeping a waiting list when we sell out.

We still have evening tickets. There are ten people on the workshop waiting list, but it's still worth putting your name down if you might be able to take a place at short notice as some of them will have made other arrangements for the day by now.

The workshop and evening were terrific. You don't need me to tell you that Frankie is an inspiring and confidence-building tutor, but I'm going to do it anyway. We had a lot of very happy customers.
