03 Dec 10 - 08:40 AM (#3045508) Subject: Neutron bombs From: John Foxen I see that Samuel T Cohen, the designer of the neutron bomb, has passed on. He described his creation as a humane weapon because "if we are going to go on fighting therser fdamnedf good wars, shelling and bombing cities to smithereens and wrecking the lives of their inhabitants, might there be some kind of nuclear weapon that could avoid all this?" Donovan summed it up in a song that had the chorus: "Neutron you're the real estate bomb/ The property stays but the people are gone." The chorus has been running through my head all day but I can't remember the rest. Can anyone help? |

Apart from not destroying our own countries, the neutron bomb would have been more effective against tank crews than other nukes. |
