Free Midi Recorder for Mac?

I'm off soon and need to continue producing midi files on the road, but am only taking an old pocket laptop, so can't run protools, Mbox etc.

Anyone know of a free midi recording package that works on a mac. Basic is fine - this is just for sketching ideas.

Thanks

Tom

Look like it's an audio recorder. I'm looking for something that records midi.

Lots for Windows but the only things I've found for mac look flakey

Cheers

Tom

Thanks - yes I'd seen those. Do you have any experience of using any of them?

Doesn't GarageBand do that?

Sorry - yes it does record, but I need to output the files when I get home, which GB won't do.

What? GB files can be saved as MP3. What more do you need?

Well I've found a LOT of potential programs, but so far most of them only record audio, and of the rest all the free ones only work with Windows, or else like Garage Band, do not produce midi files.

I found two hopefuls which seemed to be work-in-progress. I did download both but neither worked.

Others appear to be free at first glance, but it turns out that this is an old reference from the development days, and today (if they're still around) they cost hundreds.

Ah well. I'll just have to sketch in GB, and recreate in PTLE when I get home. Not really a problem.
