They sing and play traditional Australian bush music, and they perform a lot of little known songs that have been collected and stored at Australia's National Library. They are two of my favourite Australian musicians. Their musical expertise, and Chloe's wonderful voicde, bring any song alive. Their repertoire includes strong original songs, old-style ballads, well known bush songs, and lively dance tunes, accompanied by some fascinating background on where the items come from, and the performers who played them. Chloë & Jason perform as a duo (formerly called Us Not Them), as part of the six-piece Australian corrugated iron folk with their band Collector, along with other side projects. Successful independent artists with thousands of performances around Australia & overseas to their names, their releases include 15 CDs of Australian folk, country and bush music. Andy Irvine said of Collector: "Songs beautifully delivered by Chloe Roweth who also plays a deft mandolin on the tunes, trading melodic harmonies with Roger Hargraves the admirable fiddle player. Roger's son Alex may be young but he has a feeling for the music which belies his years. His guitar playing is always tasty and his chords on some of the slower songs are creative and appropriate. Mike Martin is a restless soul who collected a lot of the dance tune material and plays accordion and concertina with the first hand knowledge of how it should be played and Jim McWhinnie, Jason Roweth and Jason Neville provide bass, guitar, percussion and vocals that glue the band together.
