14 Mar 11 - 01:37 PM (#3113602) Subject: RE: Fureys on tour From: GUEST,Charley O'Neill Finbar Furey, master pipes player and singer of sweet sixteen has not been in the band for many years. I think he is now more of a cabaret type singer. Not sure if Davey Arthur is back with them.I hear on good authority that they are still a decent act. The word decent is however of course subjective. |

15 Mar 11 - 02:59 PM (#3114358) Subject: RE: Fureys on Tour From: Sandy Mc Lean Finbar is missing and Paul died a few years ago. I would still go to see them again though. I just would not expect what I saw back in the 80's. They were awesome in those days but I only seen them live once. The Old Man remains one of my all time favourite songs because of the emotion that Finbar could express in it. Of course the song was written by Phil Coulter expressly for them after the death of their father Ted. |
