I've got a few evenings free this week. Does anybody know of any sessions on Wednesday or Thursday near York please?

If you can make it as far as Leeds, the Chemic on Woodhouse Street (down the hill towards Meanwood from Woodhouse moor on Wednesdays is anything from excellent to friendly. Neither me nor Phil 'Wilco' Wilcox the Box will be there this week though as he's being Count von Count in Figaro at the Ballet Theatre, and I'm going to watch him being it. Should be a good crowd though, mainly irish but I'm sure they'll join in with whatever you throw at em.

There Is An "acoustic" night at the Golden Fleece, mainly young kids doing what could be called contemporary folk with a smattering of traditional stuff. Thursday night is the concert style venue of the Black Swan Folk Club.

We still meet at Flaxton on a Wednesday as you probably know. But unfortunately precious few tunes played these days if you are a fiddler - it's mostly song now.
