Sheffield area folkies have the chance to see and hear one of the foremost exponents of American traditional music on the current scene.
Jeff is on his spring tour of the UK and will perform his music and song at the club, Tuesday 10th. He's a brilliant musician on a variety of instruments including concertina, banjo and guitar and is an accomplished singer. He's a great bones and spoons player and does a wonderful piece with his jig dolls. A pleasure to watch and hear.
Jeff has performed widely at clubs and festivals across the USA and this country bringing his wide knowledge of American and English traditions to appreciative audiences everywhere.
Don't miss this one and be prepared to be amazed!
Kick-off 8.45, cheap bar, free tea and coffee, a lovely crowd of folks and the inimitable Jeff Warner. Its got to be a great night!!

Regards

Andy

It was a really good evening at the "Song and Supper", run by Sarah Morgan and Doug Bailey, last Thursday. This event runs on the first Thursday of the month at "The White Lion" in Wherwell, Hants, UK.
The guests were "G and T", consisting of Martin and Sian Graebe + Ron and Maddy Taylor. A great wall of sound in four part harmony. Martin is one of those rare songwriters whose songs are mistaken for ancient songs from the tradition. "Jack in the Green", for instance. See them, if you can.

Luckily for us Jeff Warner just happened to be in the area and we had another, unexpected, great treat. If you havn't seen his expertise with his little wooden man yet(Jig Doll), it is a treat not to be missed. A great singer too.

Keith and I are really annoyed that we can't be there. We have a commitment that we can't change. Please give Jeff our love.

As Hesk has said, "not to be missed". You should you go if you can.

Cheers

Sylvia

Hesk, What fortune that Jeff happened to be in your area at your 'Song and Supper 'do. I wish Jeff could be in our area a bit more regularly............ preferably weekly!!!

Sylvia, thanks for the message, pity you and Keith can't be there but we'll certainly see you in the not-too-distant future.

Regards to all. Anyone available, get down to Kivvo on Tuesday. Great night promised.

In deepest South Wales, Jeff is appearing at Llantrisant Folk Club on Wednesday, May 25 at The Windsor Hotel, Pontyclun. We're all looking forward to hearing his entertaining stories and his fabulous traditional music.
