Hi I am going to the lake district next week and wondered if anyone can tell me if there are any good folk clubs or concerts on?

What's that pub at the head of Langdale? Is it Dungeon Ghyll? Anyway, it's a great pub and there's often music whether scheduled or not, so if you're at a loose end try there. And there's some very pleasant walking.

That's the Old Dungeon Ghyll, as distinct from the New Gungeon Ghyll a little further down the valley. There are often sessions in it depending on who's around. The landlord Neil plays nice fiddle when he's of a mind.

Peripheral to the Lake District, there's a rather eclectic session at the Fox & Pheasant, Armathwaite (in the Eden Valley) next Wednesday 18th May from about 8.30 - 9.00pm.

I think there is a session in a pub in the Windermere area but memory hazy re what it was called...something like the Lamplighter Bar or suchlike. I went once when I was up there...

There's a do at the Heights Hotel, Castlerigg, Keswick, 17th-18th June. I've said I'm going but haven't seen details yet
