18 Sep 99 - 10:32 PM (#115432) Subject: Another Turf on the Fire From: Pablo I was in north County Mayo this summer and heard an old song along the lines of "Throw Another Turf on the Fire, Molly" about an old man and woman looking back over the years. This was about 5:00 am in a pub with only about three people including myself. Does this ring any bells? If nothing comes up I'll try to track it down by mail. Thanks, all. |

My recollection of the chorus is something like: "Put more turf on the fire Mary-Anne...". Strong waltz-tune. I doubt that I have a set of words in my own collection - but will have a look.
