I strongly suspect this was done to give the lighthousekeeper of Kilcredaun lighthouse, which was taken out of service not long ago, a job (and fair play to them for doing so). One of the lightkeeper's cottages has been on the books of the Irish Landmark Trust for some years as a holiday home for a good while. And quite lovely it is too. It's a nice lighthouse, I was in it five or six or so years ago, but I'd hardly think it would attract extra visitors to Clare, that's just politician's waffle. |
