His voice is low and feeble, and weak his fingers are. But he sets our hearts a-dancing, With his tra-la-la-la-la. For he sings of golden valleys where the orange blossoms grow, And the dimpling water flashes in the mossy pools below. And voices wake and echo from out the old guitar, 'Til the dim streets seem to brighten with his tra-la-la-la-la. Then his hands no longer tremble, and his old eyes tender grow.
