Hi Mudcat folks,
The faculty (most of it) has been announced for next summer's Festival of American Fiddle Tunes -- dates are July 1-8, 2012, and it's located in Port Townsend, Washington. It's one of the oldest of these camps, been going since 1976. I am super excited about this year's faculty which includes more older generation players than usual (many of whom learned their music in the 1930s), as well as some amazing young hotshots and other great fiddlers of, er, a certain age. Besides all the fiddlers, there are faculty for guitar, banjo, accordion, piano plus this year there will be dance calling workshops with Larry Edelman and others. Please check it out, I'll post here when there are updates.

Registration is open, info is on the website. Thanks, Suzy Thompson (Artistic Director, Festival of American Fiddle Tunes
P.S. I lurk on this list a lot, hardly ever post, but I really appreciate the thought-provoking and caring things that I read here.

Thanks for posting this. It's been a while since I've been, but in the past this has been a great festival in a really fine location. Maybe this is the year for a return trip from Virginia to P.T.
