I can make out many of the words, but in some spots I can't. That's the case for a lot of the Roy Rogers movie songs, unfortunately. "The Wigwam song" Is from the 1944 movie "Song of Nevada", and is sung by Mary Lee. It can be heard here Here are the lyrics as I can make them out; [Whooping] Hey-o hey-o, hey-o hey-o In the land of sky blue water lived an Indian maid Sighing wind and laughing waters sang her serenade When at night her lover came, he did linger long She would set his heart aflame with this little song (chorus) Wigwam, by-lo, ballamichi ki-mo, Wigwam, by-lo, ballamichi ki-mo, Wuh wuh! (wuh wuh) Sweet and lovely comes that haunting melody Wigwam, by-lo, ballamichi ki-mo, Wuh wuh! (wuh wuh) Maiden, tell me wigwam by-lo _____teepee_____ Then she blushes balamichi ki-mo, she won't tell the rest She just smiles and every heart beguiles with her Wigwam, by-lo, ballamichi ki-mo, Wuh wuh! (wuh wuh) All those warriors are paradin' to impress this dusky maiden But she smiles and keeps them waitin' while she sings her song: (chorus) Oh,Wigwam, by-lo, ballamichi ki-mo, Wigwam, by-lo, ballamichi ki-mo, Wuh wuh! (wuh wuh) Sweet and lovely comes that haunting melody Wigwam, by-lo, ballamichi ki-mo, Wuh wuh! (wuh wuh) Maiden, tell me wigwam by-lo _____teepee_____(nest, maybe?) Then she blushes balamichi ki-mo, she won't tell the rest She just smiles and every heart beguiles with her Wigwam, by-lo, ballamichi ki-mo, Wuh wuh! (wuh wuh) Hey-o hey-o, hey-o, hey-o Hey-o hey-o, hey-o, hey-o [whooping] As a postscript, she then shouts "How!" and Roy retorts "Hen House!" |

I didn't mean it that way. ;) I was listening to it again the other day, and I think it might actually be "Means a little Teepee nest". Not sure, but it seems like that might make sense. |

Doc says, "What's wrong?" My buddy replied, "I woke up Monday thinking I was a teepee, then Tuesday a wigwam, then Wednesday a teepee then Thursday . . . This has been going on for weeks. The doc said, "I know what your problem is! You're two tents." |
