Obit: Billie Hockett November 2011

It has just come to my attention that Billie Hockett, an important member of the Boston folk music community passed away in November. Billie was a founder of the Music For Robin Concert Series, the Conflict Calendar, and much, much more. She was a great help to me when I was working on concerts for the Folk Song Society of Greater Boston(FSSGB) in the eighties. For further information see the In Memoriam section on the FSSGB website. I'd do a blue clicky if I knew how. Anybody else out there remember Billie?

I remember her, I think I met her at one of the folk alliance conferences. A very nice woman. May she rest in peace.

So very sorry to hear this, although I knew she was very poorly. She was a good friend and ally for me on several tours.

Oh! SO sorry to hear of her passing... lovely generous energetic and supportive. She'll be surely missed by many. No doubt she's dancing in heaven

Thanks Elmore,

I can't do blue clickies either, but the URL is
www.fssgb.org/fssmem.shtml

(Perhaps some kind mud-elf will turn it into a clicky for Elmore).

I've added Billie to our Memorial thread as well.

Best wishes,

Peter

Attn: Waddon Pete, Thanks for your interest and assistance. I don't know why this sad news hadn't reached me sooner. These days I'm up in the wilds of New Hampshire where there are (or were) more politicians than people. Regards, Elmore
