BRIGHT FLAME is the latest offering from the Hallamshire Traditions label and features the singing and virtuosic playing of Ciarán Boyle whose roots extend deep into the South Yorkshire Irish community. Ciarán was encouraged in his singing by his father, Tommy Boyle, a well known and much respected singer in the pubs and other gatherings. On this , his second solo album, Ciarán is joined by local singer/songwriter and close friend Ray Hearne who lends both guitar and voice to the mix. Similarly there are contributions from Chris Sherburn whose concertina spins a skein of atmosphere around the singer''s voice.

This is a rare document of a traditional singer whose work with bands such as 'Last Night's Fun' and 'Idle Road' have made him a favourite at festivals and clubs around the country. Here we hear Ciarán in a personal space with his influences laid out before us. We hope you enjoy these songs as much as we do.

The album will be launched at Sheffield's 'Riverside' pub on 7th March 2012 at 8.00pm and Ciarán will be supported by young Sheffield singer, Patrick Rose as well as Ray Hearne. Addmission is free and we hope lots of people will be there to support as well.
The address of the venue is; 1 Mowbray Street, Sheffield S3 8EN Tel. 0114 2724633
