Here's the list of tracks and singers from the link above:

Short Sharp Shanties – VOL.3 (WGS388CD)

Rosabella - Sam Lee * Dead Horse - Keith Kendrick Heave Away, My Johnny - Barbara Brown * Bully In The Alley - Tom Brown Liza Lee - Jim Mageean * Hog-eyed Man - Jackie Oates * Old Stormey - Barbara Brown Bull John Run - Sam Lee * Billy Riley - Jeff Warner * Handy My Girls - Keith Kendrick Blow Away The Morning Dew - Jim Mageean * Rando - Barbara Brown Paddy Works On The Railway - Keith Kendrick * He Back, She Back - Jeff Warner Round the Corner Sally - Jim Mageean * Do Let Me Go - Jackie Oates Haul Away Joe - Sam Lee * Lowlands - Jeff Warner * Homeward Bound - Roger Watson
Crossing the Bar - Jeff Warner

Interesting that "Crossing the Bar" is included, given that it's not a traditional shanty or forebitter. It is, however, a splendid tribute to the sailors (and others), as adapted for singing from Alfred Lord Tennyson's poem.

The reason for including it was that it was read at John Short's funeral, and as it was already in Jeff Warner's repertoire, it seemed like an appropriate ending to the series.

Likewise 'The Sweet Nightingale' turns up at the end of Vol. 2 - it was the only non-shanty in John Short's repertoire, and one of his favourite songs, so it's just a sort of bonus track.

Barbara-

I do appreciate tributes.

I'd actually welcome another series dedicated to the adaptation of nautical poems for singing which would include Tennyson, Kipling, Masefield, Cicely Fox Smith, and a small army of lessor none sailor-poets such as Hamish Maclaren, Burt Franklin Jenness, William McFee, Bill Adams and others.
