We had a great time in Ballydehob - it was a superb festival. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and the song and music fantastic.

This article appeared in last tuesdays examiner, BY AILIN QUINLAN.
Preparations are underway for the second Fastnet Maritime and Folk Festival, which begins on June 14.
Carmen Cullen the niece of renowned Queen Of Connemara ballad singer Delia Murphy, will give a talk about her life and sing some of her songs, while the three days will offer a mixture of Bluegrass, Maritime Music, Shanties and irish traditional music as well as craft stalls and a Punch and Judy show.
The Festival will mark the 50th anniversary of the visit of John F Kennedy to Ireland- Ms Cullen is also the niece of Dr T K Kiernan who was Irish ambassador at the time and who played a crucial role in organising President Kennedys visit
