That movie remains one of my very favourites; I listen to the soundtrack quite often. I didn't know it was about JL. What an incredibly interesting man and what a full life. Goodspeed, Joesph Locke. |

At four year old I was able to not only sing along with her, but once reproached her for not reaching the high notes of Joseph Locke and then proceeded to demonstrate!! Also, at about the same time, when the Irish Guards Sergeant's Mess were invited to a mess night by other units in the Aldershot area, they would bring him as an extra guest. In the late '60s/early '70s there were still several R.E. senior NCOs who remembered volunteering for mess duties so they could hear him sing. A marvelous singer, and a real character. Thank God we had him. Bob |
