Here's an interesting video detailing the salient features of Masterwriter for song writers. It was previously marleted without the musical component as a world-class tool for writers. I've used the demo copy and found it very useful.

Yes sounds really great.
But trouble is, the more different words you use in a song
the more you gotta remember..

Thank god the writers of this classic Lee Dorsey song never had access to such software...

"Ya Ya"

(DORSEY, LEE/LEWIS, CLARENCE L/LEVY, MORRIS)

Oh, well, I'm, UH!, sittin' here,la la
Waitin' for my ya ya, ah-um, ah-um
A sittin' here la la, waitin' for my ya ya, ah-um, ah-um
It may sound funny but I don't believe she's comin', ah-um, ah-um
Baby hurry, don't make me worry, ah-um, ah-um
Yeah baby hurry, don't make me worry, ah-um, ah-um
You know that I love you, oh, how I love you, ah-um, ah-um
A sittin' here la la waitin' for my ya ya, ah-huh, ah-huh
A sittin' here la la waitin' for my ya ya, ah-um, ah-um
It may sound funny but I don't believe she's coming, ah-um, ah-um
[Instrumental]

MasterWriter used to serve me well. However, the lack of updates throughout the years makes it hard for me to recommend it over more recently developed songwriting software such as Rhyme Genie and TuneSmith which are far more powerful and less pricey.
