I have, just this very moment, learned that noted Mudcatter, minstrel and FINE singer of folk music who has starred on international stages in Europe and The Americas has recently endured the subject Birthday.

Now, knowing and admiring John, NAY... Giok... as I do, he would ask for no fanfare. But, I know he would smile at it! On accounta he's a gruff old bugger BUT that there lad?... well, he's all heart.

Nice ta know ye and I hope I do for a long while yet.

Happy birthday!

Be very, very careful in Edinburgh, especially around the Tollbooth. Especially on the day or two days immediately after your birthday.

I heard this from an Auld Scots gentleman; I think his name was "Bean" or "Sawney" or something like that.

It was actually the 9th g, but thanks very much for your wishes, and you other nice folks too.
I have reached my three score and ten, so I'm on overtime now.
I wonder if I'll get a 50% rise in my pension? Always got time and a half for overtime, when I was working. ;)

Oh... this passed Tuesday... not LAST Tuesday (at which point, we Herring Chokers do a little head bob to emphasise the difference). I'll learn proper English yet.

I hope a mod changes the title for future reference... or research, as the case may be.

Congratulations on your impressive survival rate, Jock. It appears you have successfully survived 100% of the days since your birth. This is no small feat!! I can only assume you owe your success to single malt and black coffee...
