Going awol...

From: Freddie Fox

A few threads ago [?], someone mentioned that it would be reassuring if regular contributors in particular could give some kind of warning before they disappeared for a while. Well, I've not been around long, but I've contributed to a lot of threads, so I'm going to say... Sorry, folks, my cantankerous piece of modern gadgetry [in joke - sorry] is going back to the makers [may the fleas os a thousand camels infest their armpits] to be completely wiped and redone. I don't know how long it will take - will be back asap. Thanks for all the help, welcome and encouragement - even if it's only a couple of days, I'm really going to miss you mad lot.

Love, Freddie

The difference between an accordion and a melodeon?

Accordions burn longer!!!!

Sorry, old joke I know, but it had to be put here, with the other burning instruments. I have to share a house with 8 of them, one of which cost more than my car!

I'm back briefly - no zip drive, crashing every five minutes, and I've somehow got to finish a presentation for Saturday morning... I hate this machine. Priez pour moi

Are computers in general prone to nervous breakdowns? If they're not, I think I may be. I earn my living through this piece of junk - it's never workled properly, and I'm being threatened with a total wipe and reboot. Every time it goes down I lose money and I want to scream [but the presentation went well!!!]

Well, if your going off line go to the Jug on Wednesday instead. Goodbye sweet hard drive, I'll remember your tiny bytes for ever. Eric
