In fact she sang it to me about a week before she died. I now have great-grandchildren and would love to sing it to them. It concerns a child who being told of 'poor little girls and boys' tells Mum to give his/her things away to the poor children, but ends each verse(or chorus, Im not sure which) with the plea 'But please leave me my little Teddy Bear'. Can anybody help please? |

28 Jun 13 - 12:50 PM (#3531363) Subject: my teddys story From: GUEST,claira my little teddy always played and danced together there was this little pretty forest where i lived i always walked in there when my mama was gardening and we walked over thick logs over streams i have to say i never lost my teddy till i was 13 years old because i brought it to school and we had a really mean princable named mrs.prunsky she ripped her head off! that was mabey a bad day of my life but what scared me more of my family dying in world 2 i was 1 of the children surviving i am now 86 years old and i still pray for my mama and my papa and my teddybear. |

Although I have an extra verse after "but nicest of all is my teddy bear". The extra verse goes: "The dolls can't speak they are most absurd, The ark can't utter a single word, But teddy bear in his coat of brown, Will growl if you turn him upside dow." Then continues with "he gowns and growls as if to say......." |
