30 Mar 13 - 09:44 AM (#3496712) Subject: French Song played often on BBC in '50s From: eftifino Every time I hear 'Feelin' Groovy' by Simon and Garfunkel, I'm reminded of a song sung in French in the '50s and '60s on BBC Radio. It was a gentle song sounding as if the singer was trotting on a horse, and the only part of a line I remember is " Ya ta Yata de da, Hopla' and 'beedleup, beedleup, beedleup bo." Can anyone help with name, singer or if it can still be sourced? |

I doubt the BBC in the '50's would have broadcast Yvette Guilbert's performance - which makes the naughtiness much more obvious. Jean Sablon's version was more proper and got away with any suggestiveness by being - well - French. Georgina |
