There will be a Folk Day held in Loose (near Maidstone, Kent) on 20th. July.

Please see the message below from the organiser, Tony Oliver.

"The Loose Events committee are organising a Loose Folk/Busker's Day on the 20th July. The Loose village will be filled with "clouds of music". We are in the process of firming up the programme but we hope to have Morris and Folk dancing, a Maypole, traditional games, a market, picnic, lunchtime sing-along in the Chequers Pub and a firm booking for an evening concert in the Pavilion featuring a local band called "Atlantic Currants". Plus busking acts around the Church and Brooks Field area all day. If you are interesting in being a part of this please contact Tony Oliver, Chairman of the Events Committee via his email address: troutweaver@aol.com"

Thanks for plug Melodeonboy.

Things are firming now for the day. I'll be posting the time table on the Loose Parish Council website early next month. The singalong in the Chequers is a "floor singers welcome" event like my olddays in Yorkshire just turn up and we'll see how it goes.

Refresh! It's this Saturday!

If you have any questions about the day, or you'd like tickets for the evening concert, please e-mail Tony at the e-mail address above, or send me a PM.

Atlantic Currants are a cracking four-piece Maidstone-based band playing Americana, Celtic and English Folk. Tickets for the concert are just four quid.

It might be advantageous if it did not clash with other local-ish folk and morris events.
