20 May 13 - 07:46 AM (#3517070) Subject: Kendall & Jacqui at Hall of Fame From: kendall Last Saturday afternoon, Jacqui and I did a set at the Maine country music hall of fame in Augusta Maine. A number of people were pleased with what we did, and three of them even asked for my autograph! It's sweet to be remembered. Losing my singing voice was bad enough, but now, I have something called Polymyalgia Rhumatica. Thats a $50 word for pain in every joint. |

20 May 13 - 05:03 PM (#3517310) Subject: RE: Kendall & Jacqui at Hall of Fame From: jacqui.c We did 15 minutes. Kendall started with Golden Guitar, I did Mama Fried and then we performed Phoebe Snow together. It seemed to go over quite well. Kendall's on a reducing course of steroids for the Polymyalgia and our doctor says that, by the time he finishes the course, he will be cured. |

Just said that I did. Came off stage and one of the guys said "I like that version better". We did credit you with authorship. |

21 May 13 - 06:56 AM (#3517520) Subject: RE: Kendall & Jacqui at Hall of Fame From: kendall I couldn't help but notice that all during the other performances, people in the audience were gabbing away like the performers were just background noise. That always irritates me. Then after our set a newly inducted member said to us, "That was great, you could hear a pin drop out there"! Same guy, years ago, said the same thing when I did The band played waltzing Matilda in my set at a bluegrass festival. |

22 May 13 - 07:02 AM (#3517916) Subject: RE: Kendall & Jacqui at Hall of Fame From: Sandra in Sydney It always makes me wonder why people pay to attend something if they are going to spend their time chatting or texting or speaking on their phones, but we are living in the ME ME ME world. Fortunately there are enough old-fashioned folks around who like to listen. I prefer to hang around with these folks. sandra |
22 May 13 - 08:34 AM (#3517932) Subject: RE: Kendall & Jacqui at Hall of Fame From: jacqui.c Ii agree Sandra - even at free events I go to listen to the songs. I know of a few people who can't seem to get that idea and want to sit and talk at me while others are performing. I say talk AT me because, even if I don't answer them they just keep droning on. One of these days I'm going to forget politeness and tell them where to go! At this event there were a couple of women at the table behind us who yapped and cackled all the way through every performance. Very annoying! |
