Lyr Req: Bells of Dublin (Chieftains)

Getting into that holiday mood, and was wondering if anyone had or knew of the place to go for lyrics for the album, The Bells of Dublin, by the Chieftains. ?? Am enjoying the album immensely, but cannot make out many of the words. Thanks!

Dear r.b.,

I don't have that particular CD, but perhaps if you gave the titles of the songs on it, someone might be able to help you out -- or at least tell you how to use a search engine to find what you're looking for.

I have the CD and was just listening to it yesterday in my car. I just checked the jacket but the lyrics aren't written on it.

If someone doesn't respond soon with the lyrics, I'll write them down in the next day or two and post them (the CD is out in my car...)

I'll keep watching to see if anyone answers your request. Otherwise, I'll be happy to do this in a day or so.

Best, WW

WW, most of the lyrics are on the web already. This site has about half of them. Past three O'Clock has been in the Forum, Stephen's day murder is on the Chieftains website, Rebel jesus is her etc. (Why do I know all this. I did the search job last year at about the same time.) If I have the time (tomorrow) I'll put on a list. Of course, the lyrics are not always exactly what's on the above CD, but mostly close.
Wait WW two days and then we'll be grateful if you'll fill in the gaps.

Wolfgang

Here are my links written into the track list of that CD. I didn't try to find lyrics in other languages than English. Since I didn't check at home I might have left out one or two songs for thinking they were tunes and for the same reason I don't know which Wexford Carol it is (I can find out and I'll have the lyrics). Mostly the lyrics are only close and not exactly what is sung but with the exception of Deck the Halls (see below) I did understand virtually everything on that CD with these lyrics as basis.

Wolfgang

The Tracks:

1.The Bells of Dublin
Christmas Eve
2.Past Three O'clock
(scroll a bit for Past Three A Clock)
3.St. Stephen's Day Murders
4.Il Est Né/Ca Berger
5.Don Oiche Ud I mBeithil
6.I Saw Three Ships A Sailing
7.A Breton Carol
Carol Medley
8.O The Holly She Bears A Berry
9.God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
10.The Boar's Head
11.The Wexford Carol
12.The Rebel Jesus
(wait, wait, wait, then scroll, scroll, scroll)
13.Skyline Jig
14.O Holy Night
Medley: "The Wren! The Wren!"
15.The Arrival of the Wren Boys
16.The Dingle Set
17.The Wren In The Furze
18.A Dance Duet
19.Brafferton Village/Walsh's Hornpipe
20.The Farwell:
The Piper Through The Meadow Strayed
This Is The Season To Be Merry
(better known as 'Deck the halls'; the lyrics on the Chieftains CD are quite different in some lines and since it is choir singing I can't even start a transliteration of what they are singing. Mettes, if you read this, it'd be a job for you.)
21.Medley: Once in Royal David's City
22.Ding Dong Merrily On High
23.O Come All Ye Faithful

Il est né(English translation) (the lyrics on the Chieftains CD are very close)
Ça Bergers
the gist of the second french song:
let's assemble, shepherds, to see the Messias, in the arms of Mary...

Sorry, not easy to see, in the first line you are transported to two different sites depending on whether you click on the first three or on the last two words. Wolfgang
